New Wildwood Municipal Building Christened

VIDEOS: An open house and ribbon cutting was held March 6 at 16860 Main Street in Wildwood, for a good reason.

Many residents attended Wildwood's open house Wednesday at the new municipal building, which combines city functions, municipal court and police headquarters for the first time in the city's history.

Wildwood's new municipal building, formerly referred to as the city hall, was approved by voters during April 2010, after residents from the city's wards served on a volunteer City Hall Steering Committee and after a series of public forums were held about the project to gain residents' ideas and feedback.

The new building replaced the leased city hall at 183 Plaza Drive and the St. Louis County Police Department-Wildwood (6th) Precinct office at 17014 D New College Ave.

Project architects were the Wildwood Collaborative composed of Powers Bowersox Associates, Dennis Tacchi & Associates, John C. Guenther, Architect, and helmuth + bicknese architects.
