Lindbergh, Northwest Football Players Named to Suburban West All-Conference Teams
Linebacker Sam Smith, a Lindbergh High School senior, is designated as the defensive Most Valuable Player.

Sam Smith, of Lindbergh High School, was named as the defensive Most Valuable Player on the 2010 Suburban West Football All-Conference team. The Flyers made it to the state quarter finals, posting a 9-3 season.
Smith was a stalwart on defense for Lindbergh, but he wasn't the only local player recognized for outstanding play this year. A number of players from Lindbergh and Northwest high schools were selected for the Suburban West all-conference team.
Making the All-Conference first team were:Â Lindbergh punter Matt Klingler, a senior; Lindbergh wide-receiver Adam Schremp, a senior; Northwest offensive lineman Nick Tufts, a senior; Lindbergh defensive back Will Spitzfaden, a senior; Lindbergh linebacker and defensive MVP Sam Smith, a senior; Northwest linebacker Nick Peeples, a senior; and Lindbergh defensive lineman Tony Robinson, a senior.

Named to the All-Conference second team were: Lindbergh quarterback Peter Simpson, a junior; Lindbergh Tim Hamm-Bey, a senior; Lindbergh offensive lineman Antwon Kennell, a senior; Northwest defensive back Chris Gearon, a senior; Lindbergh linebacker Chris Kew, a junior; and Lindbergh defensive lineman Tom Million and Chris Collins, both seniors.
Selected for the All-Conference third team were:Â Lindbergh wide receiver Will Spitzfaden, a senior; Lindbergh defensive back Garrett Krueger, a freshman; Lindbergh linebacker Matt Klingler, a senior; and Lindbergh defensive lineman Cedric Malone, a senior.
