Northwest School District Seeks Award-Winning Staff Nominations
March 1 is the deadline to nominate NW employees for several all-district awards.

The application process for the Northwest School District Employee Awards is underway. The awards are designed to recognize the excellence of character, performance and service on the part of employees who serve the district.
Detailed descriptions of the awards and nomination forms can be located on the district's website in the Quick Links “Departments” on the Human Resources page under “Recognition Awards” tab or by clicking here. Any employee or resident of the district is eligible to nominate someone from the categories below.
The Teacher of the Year program is designed to honor and recognize the efforts certified teacher. “Teacher” is defined as a full time teacher or librarian teaching in pre-kindergarten through Grade 12. The teacher nominated must have worked a minimum of four years at Northwest. From the nominations, one elementary, one middle school, and one high school recipient will be selected and from those three, an overall District Teacher of the Year will be named.
The Apple Award recognizes certain certificated employees: assistant superintendents, executive directors, directors, coordinators, principals, assistant principals, guidance counselors, diagnosticians, instructional coaches, or any retiring certificated employee. The all-inclusive list can be found in the detailed description. A total of three award recipients will be selected by committee.
The Golden Bell Award recognizes all district support staff such as directors, paraprofessionals, health room assistants, nurses, custodians, playground/lunchroom assistants, food service workers, maintenance workers, parent educators, registrars, accounting/payroll, administrative assistants, technology staff, or any other classified employee. A total of three award recipients will be selected by the committee.
All nomination forms can be completed online via the District web site. Paper copies will be accepted but the preference is for completion to be done online. All nominations form are due before 4:30 p.m. March 1, 2013.
