Olde Towne Fenton DAR's Good Citizens & Scholarship Awards
Three Outstanding Local High School Students Recognized and Awarded with Olde Towne Fenton DAR's Good Citizens & Scholarship Awards

An awards program was presented on March 6th to recognize three outstanding high school students, who exemplify the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities.
During the Olde Towne Fenton Chapter, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution's general membership meeting, the following students were awarded DAR's Good Citizens and Scholarship awards.
- Johanna Clarice Broten, of Rockwood Summit High School, serves as an officer in the National Honor Society, and is active in Key Club, the Renaissance Committee, Orchestra, and Ski Club. She is a volunteer of the Ronald McDonald House and Feed my Starving Children and has traveled to Jamaica and Ethiopia on mission trips through her church. Johanna's Scholarship essay was forwarded on to compete at the Missouri State Society DAR level.
- Megan Irene Lumsden, of Notre Dame High School, is the Vice President of Student Council and the President of the National Honor Society. She actively serves her church, volunteering her time in youth programs.
- Logan Kammerer, of St. John's Vianney High School, is a member of the National Honor Society, is an Eagle Scout, and is active in Vianney's Chess Club and team. He has served as a volunteer at Friendship Village and provides tutoring-based service within his community.
Janice DeWeese and Susan Hauf co-chair the DAR Good Citizens and Scholarship Awards program for the Olde Towne Fenton DAR Chapter. They both heartily commended the students and wished them all best wishes in their future endeavors.

The Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to the promotion of patriotism, education and historic preservation. DAR is an organization with a deeply rich history while also being truly relevant in today's world. More than 1,000000 women have joined the organization since it was founded over 125 years ago.
