5 Things to Get Florissant Students Ready for School

The school year is starting, and we're helping parents and students get ready for the big first day.

With the first day of school right around the corner, we’re helping parents and guardians get ready.

Here’s a rundown of helpful facts and tips to get you started in the 2013-2014 school year.
  1. With the latest numbers from the Cooperating School District of St. Louis, the Ferguson-Florissant School District will welcome 425 students from Riverview Gardens and Normandy school districts. Hazelwood School District will welcome more than 280.

  2. If you’re still gathering all of your child’s school supply needs, check out the Ferguson-Florissant School District website or the Hazelwood School District website for a supply breakdown by school.

  • Earlier this month, Ferguson-Florissant School District administrators welcomed more than 40 new teachers to the fold for the 2013-2014 school year.
  • School starts Monday for both districts. Ferguson-Florissant elementary schools get started at 8:45 a.m., middle schools and McCluer South-Berkeley starting at 7:50 a.m. McCluer North and McCluer high schools begin at 7:15 a.m. In Hazelwood schools, elementary schools starting at 8:50 a.m., middle schools at 8:10 a.m. and high schools at 7:25 a.m.
