Monday Jumpstart: 5 Things to Know For This Week in Florissant
City Council, a "dive-in" movie and more will be happening this week.

Mondays can be a real drag off a great weekend, but Patch is here to give you a pick-me-up for the start of your week.
Here are five things to know about happening in Florissant this week.

- Hazelwood School District will host its Assessment Literacy Night with industry expert, Jan Chappuis. The event will be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Hazelwood Central High School in the Fieldhouse. Dinner and childcare are being provided. For more information on the event, check out the Hazelwood School District website.
- The City of Florissant goes a little under the sea with a number of events happening around town this week and in coming weeks. Wednesday night the James J. Eagan Center indoor pool will have a Olympic Night, and Friday will be a “dive-in” movie to see Dolphin Tales at Koch Family Aquatic Park.
- Temperatures will be a bit milder this week, starting out in the 90-degree range and dropping into the 80s by the middle of the week, according to the National Weather Service. There is also a chance for storms Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Florissant City Council will host its final July meeting at Florissant Government Building, Monday night at 7:30 p.m.
- For those worried about the vampire of summer, also known as mosquitos, the city will be doing fogging throughout the week when weather allows to cut down on the number of them.
