Real men don't hit women
Violence against women is not OK and men have to be clear about that.
I usually come up with catchier titles, but I think we need to get straight to the point today. You’ve certainly heard by now about Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, the domestic violence case with his fiancee (now wife) and the two-game suspension issued by the NFL earlier this week.
This is not about that...at least not directly. This post is about us and our sons, what we’re teaching them, and what we’re allowing them to learn from other sources. If we want domestic violence toward women to stop, then we need to be clear in message and in practice.
Simply put, real men don’t hit women. We don’t hit our moms, sisters, aunts, cousins, friends, girlfriends or wives. I don’t care if you’re 8 or 38. If you hit a girl or a woman, you are less than a man. You’re soft. You’re weak. Your heart pumps Kool-Aid.
