'The Secret Garden' Starts Its Run at Florissant Civic Center Theater

If you’re looking to take in a good theater performance, Florissant Civic Center Theatre has something up your alley.

"The Secret Garden," presented by The Hawthorne Players, begins its run at the theater Friday at 8 p.m.

The musical follows 11-year-old Mary Lennox who has been orphaned in India and goes to Yorkshire to live with her uncle and cousin. But her uncle’s estate contains a magical garden that’s dreamy and a bit haunting.

The Secret Garden is based on a popular children’s book.

The musical is directed by Stephanie Merritt.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors and students. The show runs from Aug. 2-Aug. 11 with varying show times.
