6 Entertaining Ideas to do at St. Louis Outlet Mall

If you're looking for something to do, the mall offers a lot more than just shopping.

When scouring the events pages, one place that might not even come to mind is St. Louis Outlet Mall.

While Hazelwood boasts a bounty of weekend events during the summer months, the mall might have a few ideas of fun for you and the family.

  • The most obvious activities to do at the mall is to shop. The mall has more than 160 stores and a bit of something for everyone through the directory. From Old Navy to Burlington Coat Factory, you could spend days in the dizzying variety.

  • If you’ve got a need for speed or tag, the NASCAR Speedpark might be a great place to go. The park has five go-kart tracks to test your driving maneuvers, or if you’d rather hang elsewhere, the park also has miniature gold, laser tag, a rock climbing wall and arcade with more than 80 games. You can get an all-day, unlimited pass to the park for $21 or $30, depending on your height.

  • Cabela’s sells an array of items for outdoor activities, but on Fridays, the store entertains the kiddos with feeding the 70-80 year old turtles at 10 a.m., followed by the feeding of underwater creatures of largemouth bass, crappie, blue gills, flathead catfish, white bass and other species. If you want to make it into a field trip, the store even offers a tour of the aquarium, its museum and the store, but you must make an appointment.

  • If you’re planning to catch some air or just like to rock and roll, Plan Nine Skatepark in the mall allows for people to bike, skateboard or rollerblade around its ramps and rails. For two hours, the park only costs $12.

  • Regal Cinema shows the latest and greatest features in regular, 3D and IMAX, but on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, you can catch a flick for $1 at 10 a.m. throughout the summer.

  • Although Plan Nine Skateboard allows you to catch air, IceZone allows you to frost your skates up with its indoor ice rink. The rink has two-hour and five-hour daily public skate sessions, and you can act like your a St. Louis Blues player since the rink serves as the team’s practice facility. The cost is $8 for adults and children older than 5 and $3 for five and younger.

  • Everyone likes a little miniature golf, but what about playing in the dark? The 18-hole course at Putting Edge uses fluorescent golf balls, black lights and vivid wall decor to create a glow-in-the-dark golf game. The cost is $9.50 for adults and $7.50 for kids.
