if you want to test your competitive edge, try a boat race--in a cardboard boat. White Birch Bay will host the Cardboard Clash Saturday afternoon. Four to six boats will compete in a heat with the winner or winners decided by if they’re still afloat. Those winners move into the next heat against the not-so-lazy river where boats have to finish with the best time to win. Construction of the boats must be done by 4:30 p.m. to be able to compete. Winners will be announced in three categories, Competitive Pool Race, Lazy River Race and Most Creative Design. Races begin at 5 p.m., and those ages 7 and older can compete.
For folks looking for oldies, classic or Motown grooves, then the 3rd Degree Band will meet your quota this weekend. The band will perform as a part of Hazelwood’s Summer Concert Series. The show will be at Truman Park and starts at 7 p.m.
