Hazelwood Kicks into High Gear for Back to School

Check out what's happening around town this week.

Mondays can be a real drag off a great weekend, but Patch is here to give you a pick-me-up for the start of your week.

Here are five things to know about happening in Hazelwood this week.

  • The state's sales tax holiday known as "tax-free weekend" will be this weekend, Aug. 2-4. Hazelwood residents can enjoy the deals and sales for back-to-school throughout the city.
  • In addition, Hazelwood School District will prep students and parents for the new school year Saturday at its back-to-school fair. The event will be at St. Louis Outlet Mall, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • This week’s temperatures look to stay nice around 80 degrees and warm back up toward the end of the week.
  • Hazelwood West High School registration begins Monday for seniors. Students will be able to pick up their schedules, IDs and other needs ahead of school. For the rest of the schedule, check out the Hazelwood School District website.
  • Hazelwood will host its annual “dive-in” movie at White Birch Bay Saturday and will feature the classic, E.T.
