Hazelwood PD Lip Syncs Beastie Boys' Sabotage, Run-DMC's Tricky
"You asked for it....well here it is!" the department said on Facebook.
HAZELWOOD, MO — Officers with the Hazelwood Police Department are the latest to succumb to a trend sweeping police departments across the country. No, it doesn't have anything to do with locking up criminals or adopting body cams — though cameras are involved.
From Ballwin to St. Louis, local police have been showing off their dance moves and lip-syncing to their favorite pop hits, and challenging other departments to do the same. Some lip-sync challenge videos have quickly racked up more than a million views.
While other departments around the country have gone with classics like Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" or even Disney mashups, Hazelwood PD decided to re-make the Beastie Boys' Sabotage music video before transitioning to Tricky by Run-DMC. It's not bad.

"You asked for it....well here it is! The Hazelwood Police Department Lip Sync video," the department posted to Facebook Monday morning. "Big thanks to Matt Goodman with "The Film Legends" for your help in making this, Hazelwood Parks and Recreation, Hazelwood Fire Department, Hazelwood Police Explorer and Volunteers, Pat McSheehy Jr. for the DJ equipment, and everyone else who came out and donated their time to make this a success. Thank you to the Hazelwood Police Benevolent Association for funding this project as well! And as always, thank you to our wonderful community for also being a part of it! We hope you enjoy!"
It doesn't look like Hazelwood's finest have yet offered a challenge to another local police department, but we'll be on the lookout for the next lip sync video to hit the internet. Be sure to subscribe to Patch so you don't miss it.
