Hazelwood Vets the Field for a New City Manager
With City Manager Edwin Carlstrom retiring at the end of the month, the City of Hazelwood moves forward in getting applicants.

Hazelwood City Council has moved forward in the hiring process for the next city manager and can soon be moving toward interviews.
Julie Stone, Director of the Local Government Partnership with East-West Gateway Council of Governments, presented an update on the hiring process of the city manager to the council at a special session last month.
Current City Manager Edwin Carlstrom will step down from the position July 26 after 34 years.

According to the meeting’s minutes, Stone said 12 applications for the position had been received from the job advertisement placed in a set of agreed upon publications.
The closing date for applications is July 19.

From that point, 10 or more applications will be submitted to council for interview selection, according to the minutes. The applications will be given to council before July 24.
Mayor Matt Robinson previously said he hopes to have a new city manager in place by this fall.
