So You Think You Can Speedskate? Join Saturday
The St. Louis Speedskating Club is kicking off its season this weekend. Stop by the open house if interested.

The Winter Olympics favorite has found a way to St. Louis: Now you can join a St. Louis area speedskating club.
Think you want to give it a shot? Here are five things you should know about the St. Louis Speedskating Club's open house this weekend:
- The open house will be Saturday at the Webster Ice Rink at 12:30 p.m.
- Olympic skater Brendan Eppert will be on hand for tips and learning the form of the sport.
- Interested? Make sure you bring a helmet, gloves and long pants. A limited number of speed skates will be available.
- Throughout the season, practice time on the ice takes up to four hours a week.
- Sessions in the St. Louis area rotate through Webster Groves, Queeny Park, St. Louis Outlet Mall's IceZone, and Hardee's rinks.
- The speedskating season runs from September to March.
