- Country music lovers can look forward to this weekend’s performance at Truman Park in the Hazelwood Concert Series. Borderline will take the stage to entertain crowds with a top country collection. The show is free and starts at 7 p.m. In case of rain, it will be held at the Hazelwood Community Center.
- The Young Professionals of Mary Grove will host a Through the Decades Trivia Night Saturday at DeSmet High School. The proceeds will go to benefit Mary Grove Children’s Center, which is based in North County. Individual tickets are $25 and a table of eight costs $200. The night will have trivia, raffles and a silent auction. To register for the event, go to the Marygrove Children website.
- After this weekend, the pools will be open only on the weekends, so enjoy the weekend before the start of school at White Birch Bay. The aquatic center will be open noon-7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- If you’re looking to stay inside this weekend, Regal Cinema will have a new line of movies such as "Elysium" with Matt Damon and "Planes" releasing. You can also catch summer flicks, such as "The Wolverine" and "2 Guns."
- Families can shop and enjoy themselves early Saturday morning at the Ferguson Farmer’s Market. In the special events tent this week, Dave Thies of Thies Farm will be roasting farm fresh vegetables from 9-11 a.m.. Of course, the market will also feature a number of other vendors with fruits, vegetables and food that you can buy. The market is open 8 a.m.-noon at 20 S. New Florissant Road.
