City Of KC Offices Closed July 5; Trash Pickup Affected

Administrative offices for the City of Kansas City, Missouri, will be closed on Monday, July 5 in recognition of the Independence Day holiday, so no trash and recycling will be picked up that day. However, the next day, Tuesday, July 6, is the start of our twice-a-year opportunity for residents to set out extra bags without any extra cost.

Yes, you can place up to 12 bags curbside without any additional tags as long as each bag weighs less than 40 pounds. Regular trash rules apply and no hazardous waste, bulky items or leaf and brush will be collected. Please remember: All trash and recycling is required to be set out by 7 a.m. on your scheduled day.
