Data Systems International Lends Helping Hand to cfm Distributors

cfm Distributors improves their supply chain management and productivity with two updates

Kansas City, Missouri – cfm Distributors has selected locally-based Data Systems International (DSI®), a leading provider of inventory management solutions, as well as Meridian, a prominent technology consulting firm, to improve their supply chain management and productivity. DSI was selected to implement and align its Cloud Inventory® solutions for use with cfm Distributors to manage and optimize inventory for cfm’s warehouse processes. Meridian was selected to implement the NetSuite ERP platform in order to upgrade many cross-organizational business processes. cfm will be using this technology at its Kansas City headquarters, branch locations, and warehouses, and these solutions will enhance business between their partners and customers through an expanded eCommerce solution. cfm Distributors is an all-around employee-owned HVAC distributor which operates six branches in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Nebraska, and excels through focused simplicity, process improvement opportunities, and resourceful ideas which serve their team and their customers.

cfm Distributors had previously operated by using paper-based systems for the inventory management, shipping, and tracking. Due to being slow and outdated, these manual, paper-based processes posed a challenge to achieving complete and real-time inventory visibility and cfm Distributors needed to retire their paper-based processes for inventory tracking. What cfm needed was a mobile-first solution to manage all warehouse processes under one system, and DSI’s Cloud Inventory® was a perfect solution for them. They have begun their implementation of DSI’s mobile-first, cloud-based solutions for their inventory management to improve productivity and increase operational visibility enterprise-wide. One of DSI’s advantages is that they can help cfm Distributors improve their inventory management even while the company phases out its old systems and makes the transition to the Cloud. Another advantage of DSI’s Cloud Inventory® is that it works on many different mobile devices and is a low-code, no-code platform which means cfm Distributors will be able to customize it for their needs and can adapt the platform to continuously fit their company as they grow and expand.

Where Meridian comes into play is that they will implement the NetSuite platform within cfm Distributors to the effect of increasing data access across the organization, reduce cost via systems consolidation, and coordinate all order entry points. This will help the simplification of item and pricing updates, which will eliminate manual processes and improve inventory planning, vendor management, and fulfillment across all of cfm Distributors’ eCommerce and sales channels. Fortunately for cfm Distributors, DSI’s Cloud Inventory® was designed to easily integrate with NetSuite, so both of the new technologies cfm has acquired will work together and complement each other.
