Jackson County Residents Awarded Scholarships to WGU Missouri
Angela Berg and Jeremy Adams were recently surprised with $2,500 scholarships to the fully online, nonprofit university
Jackson County residents Angela Berg and Jeremy Adams were both recently surprised with scholarships to WGU Missouri. Angela Berg resides in Blue Vue Hills and received a $2,500 Resiliency Scholarship, which is designed to assist students with the unforeseen financial struggles presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and allow them to continue their course of study. Berg, a nurse at Saint Luke’s Hospital, is pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing – Education from WGU Missouri. She was virtually presented with the scholarship on December 22 by WGU Strategic Partnerships Manager John Hardin.
Jeremy Adams of Lee’s Summit was awarded a $2,500 Back to School Scholarship, which is open to new students enrolling in any of the more than 60 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs offered at WGU — in business, information technology, education and health professions. Adams, a custodian for North Kansas City Schools, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from WGU Missouri. He was virtually presented with the scholarship on January 20 by WGU Strategic Partnerships Manager Jim Chandler.
