Kansas City Parks & Recreation: Loose Park Rose Garden Celebrates 90 Years And Launches QR Code Program

Kansas City Rose Society helps visitors learn more about each rose with a quick scan of their phone

The Kansas City Rose Society (KCRS), celebrating 90 years of supporting the internationally acclaimed Laura Conyers Smith Municipal Rose Garden, is thrilled to announce an exciting addition to the garden. The KCRS launched a Rose Library website this May, featuring all rose varieties in the garden by name, color, and classification, along with photographs and interesting American Rose Society information and notes.  While you can find this library at kcrsroselibrary.com, visitors to the garden may also access it by using their phones to scan the new QR code stickers placed on every sign in the Rose Garden. Each rose has a unique code that will access a page about that variety. In addition to a written summary of each rose’s history, visitors may listen to an audio narrative about each rose.

All summer long, KC Parks and the Kansas City Rose Society will be celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Laura Conyers Smith Municipal Rose Garden in Loose Park, 5200 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri. The Rose Garden is free and open to the public every day from 5 a.m.-Midnight (parking lot locked at 10 p.m.).
