Kansas City School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Kansas City is August 14. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Kansas City Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

September

• 9/1: No School for Students (Professional Development Day)

• 9/18: Grades Due (Midterms)

• 10/13: First Quarter Ends
• 10/16: Second Quarter Begins
• 10/18: Grades Due (Quarter)
• 10/19: No School for Students (Parent Teacher Conferences)
• 10/20: No School for Students (Teacher Workday)

November

• 11/16: Midterm Exams
• 11/21: Grades Due (Midterms)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/21: First Semester Ends
• 12/22: No School for Students (Teacher Workday)
• 12/23 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)

January
