Kansas City Shooting Leaves 2 Dead, Including Apparent Shooter
At least 15 others were injured in the shooting Sunday night in Kansas City, including three who are in critical condition.

KANSAS CITY, MO — Two people were killed and at least 15 others were injured in a shooting outside a bar in Kansas City Sunday night, according to police and news reports.
Police said in a statement they were dispatched to the 4800 block of Noland Road around 11:30 p.m. for a shooting where they found a man and a woman dead at the scene. The man found dead is believed to be the shooter, police said.
An armed security guard at the bar engaged the shooter, police said. The Kansas City Star reported the shooter fired into a line of people waiting to enter the bar.

At least 15 people went to hospitals following the shooting and three of them are listed in critical condition.
The shooting happened the same day the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Tennessee Titans to earn a spot in the Super Bowl.

The scene was near U.S. Highway 40. News outlets at the scene identified the bar outside which the shooting took place as 9ine Ultra Lounge. A Facebook post on the club's page advertised Sunday night's “Sold Out Sundays” event, which appeared to be a celebration of the Chiefs.
"Our greatest challenges remain even this morning in our community," Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said in a statement.
"My thoughts are with the families and friends of those whose lives were lost or impacted by last night’s mass shooting. Thankful security appears to have kept the situation from being even worse."

Police said the circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown.
