Platte County Residents Earn Scholarships to WGU Missouri

Ambreen Villanova and Chris Marshall were awarded scholarships to the fully online, nonprofit university

Platte County residents Ambreen Villanova and Chris Marshall were both recently surprised with scholarships to WGU Missouri. Ambreen Villanova was awarded a $2,500 Resiliency Scholarship, which is designed to assist students with the unforeseen financial struggles presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and allow them to continue their course of study. Villanova, a communication specialist dispatcher for the Kansas City Police Department, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Management from WGU Missouri. She was virtually presented with the scholarship on December 10 by WGU Strategic Partnerships Manager John Hardin.

Chris Marshall was awarded a $3,000 I Have A Dream Scholarship, which is designed for Missourians who have always dreamed of completing their college degrees and advancing their careers but faced challenges that prevented them from moving forward. Marshall, a learning consultant for the federal department of Cerner, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Healthcare Management from WGU Missouri. He was virtually presented with the scholarship on November 24 by WGU Missouri Strategic Partnerships Manager John Hardin.
