Spectrum Expands State-of-the-Art Network in Kansas City Area
Spectrum's Full Suite of Internet, TV, Mobile and Voice Services Now Available, Including Gigabit Connections for Residents
Spectrum today announced the expansion of Spectrum Internet® and the full suite of Spectrum services for more than 470 homes in the Kansas City area, following the completion of a $1.25 million network upgrade. This expansion effort includes projects in the Kansas communities of Bucyrus, Lenexa and Shawnee – and in North Kansas City, Missouri. These buildouts are in addition to Spectrum’s $1.37 million private investment to connect hundreds of homes in 2020, with more projects and investment underway in the Kansas City area.
Spectrum’s high-bandwidth, low-latency network means local residents now have access to gigabit connections with Spectrum Internet, which includes starting internet speeds of 200 Mbps with no modem fees, data caps or contracts. Spectrum Internet Ultra, which features download speeds up to 400 Mbps, is also available to residential customers. For small and medium-sized businesses, Spectrum Business® offers gigabit connections, with starting speeds of 200 Mbps and a 600 Mbps option.

The new Spectrum TV® brings extensive programming lineups to the area, with more than 200 HD channels and a two-way, fully interactive network providing access to 85,000 movies and shows. Spectrum TV customers can also download the award-winning Spectrum TV App, which allows users to stream content across a growing number of platforms, including iOS and Android phones and tablets, Xbox, Kindle Fire, Samsung Smart TVs, Apple TV 4K, Google Chromecast and PCs. Spectrum TV customers also have exclusive access to Spectrum Originals, a premier destination for premium original series, available on-demand and ad-free.
Spectrum Mobile™ is available exclusively to Spectrum Internet customers. Home phone service through Spectrum Voice® provides unlimited calling in the U.S, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico; up to 28 popular calling features, including Call Guard, which helps block unwanted robocalls; and no added phone taxes or fees. From 2018‒2020, Charter Communications, Inc., which operates the Spectrum brand, extended its network to reach an additional 2.5 million homes and small businesses, about a third in rural areas. In 2020 alone, Charter extended its network to reach an additional 23,000 homes and small businesses in Missouri, and 4,000 homes and small businesses in Kansas.
