Police Investigate Car Crash at Local Church

Weekly incidents from the Glendale Police Department.

The Glendale Police blotter for Jan. 14-20. The following information was provided by the Glendale Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. 

Monday, Jan. 14

  • At 6:21 p.m., a 25-year-old Glendale man was arrested in the 1300 block of W. Lockwood and charged in Municipal Court with Improper Vehicle Registration and as a fugitive of the Maryland Heights Police Department. He was released on bond.

  • At 12:51 a.m., a 20-year-old Maplewood man was arrested near the intersection of Manchester and Berry Road and charged in Municipal Court with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Suspended and Speeding. He was released to the custody of his attorney.

Thursday, Jan. 17

  • At 2:29 a.m., officers on patrol near the intersection of N. Berry Road and W. Lockwood observed a disturbance between husband and wife inside a vehicle.  The parties were separated for the evening.
  • At 4:01 p.m., a 21-year-old St. Louis man was arrested during a traffic stop in the 1100 block of W. Lockwood and charged in Municipal Court with Driving While Suspended, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, Speeding, No Proof of Insurance and as a fugitive of the Richmond Heights and St. Louis City Police Departments.  He was released to St. Louis City authorities after posting bond on the Glendale and Richmond Heights charges.  His passenger, a 23 year old Jennings man, was also arrested and charged as a fugitive of the Webster Groves Police Department.  He was released to Webster Groves authorities.

  • At 9:53 p.m., an 18-year-old Webster Groves woman was arrested in the 900 block of W. Lockwood and charged as a fugitive of the Brentwood Police Department. She was released after her bond was posted at the Brentwood Police Department.

Saturday, Jan. 19

  • At 707 p.m., a resident of the unit block of Armstrong Drive reported seeing a grey sport utility vehicle entering and leaving driveways in the area and shining a flashlight into homes in the area. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the SUV.

Sunday, Jan. 20

  • At 12:03 a.m., police are investigating a motor vehicle crash which occurred on the parking lot of the Glendale Presbyterian Church, 500 N. Sappington Road, with the striking vehicle, a dark colored SUV, leaving the scene of the accident.  Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash and seeing three people exit the SUV, look at the vehicle which was struck, then leave the scene.  It is believed the occupants of the SUV were attendees of a party hosted in the 900 block of Moreland earlier in the evening.
  • At 12:17 p.m., a resident of the unit block of Austin Place reported persons unknown threw a beer bottle at a window on the front of his residence, causing a dent in the window trim.  The offense took place sometime overnight.
  • At 1:10 p.m., a resident of the 1200 block of Brownell reported receiving numerous harassing phone calls originating from area codes 876 and 702.  These area codes are linked to foreign lottery scams.  The resident did not suffer any monetary loss and was advised to contact his telephone service provider for a block on calls from these numbers.
