Man Got Special Delivery of Marijuana Package Flagged by Police, Officers Say
Girma Abozen was charged with intent to distribute a controlled substance after he ultimately received the package, police said.

Police had a suspicious package delivered to a Kirkwood residence, and ended up arresting an Olivette man after finding he received nearly one-third of a pound of marijuana in the special delivery.
Kirkwood Police said officers conducted a controlled delivery of the suspicious package in Kirkwood and said Girma Abozen ultimately received the package.
Police stopped Abozen’s car and an officer smelled marijuana in the vehicle. A police K-9 unit alerted on a backpack in the vehicle, and police found 139 grams of marijuana inside, about one-third of a pound.

Abozen, 20, of the 9500 block of Laguna in Olivette, was charged Aug. 14 with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Abozen posted $750, 10 percent of a $7,500 bond, and was released from jail Aug. 28.
