Police Make DUI, Shoplifting Arrests in Kirkwood

- At 4:45 a.m., police stopped a pedestrian near the intersection of Milwaukee and Meacham. The adult, only twenty years of age, was found in possession of a bottle of vodka. He was arrested and charged with minor in possession of intoxicating liquor.
- At 8:15 p.m., a resident from Ballwin, MO, reported fraud to police. The resident shared a bank card with her daughter. A review of the account found eight unauthorized transactions using the bank card at an ATM machine in Kirkwood. All of the withdrawals occurred within a two week period in mid-October 2012.
Sunday, Nov. 11
- At 2:14 a.m., police stopped a motorist for a traffic violation on northbound I-270 near Big Bend. The driver, an adult, was arrested after he was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. A short time later, at 2:57 a.m., police stopped a second motorist for a traffic violation near the intersection of North Kirkwood Road and Argonne. This driver was also arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

- Kirkwood Police arrested seven adults for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. The offenses occurred at a retail store in the 10400 block of Manchester Road and at retail stores in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. One of the arrested faces a felony stealing charge due to having at least two previous theft-related convictions. The case will be referred to the St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.
