Observed floors with dirt buildup. 6-501.12. Physical facilities shall be cleaned as often as necessary to keep floors clean. Correct by end of business day.

El Indio Mexican Restaurant, 9865 Manchester Road
Inspection date: April 26
Grade: A (91)

  • Employee drink cup in kitchen without lid or straw. 2-401.11 Employee drinks shall be covered and away from the possibility of cross contamination. Correct by end of business to day-COS discarded.
  • Dishmachine not sanitizing. Three compartment sink was set up upon arrival with the three step process incorrect. Ice machine baffle showing heavy black markings with possible mold growth. Food contact surfaces shall be cleaned to sight and touch.
  • Caulking around prep sink and three compartment sinks is damaged/showing heavy black substance. 
  • Mops sitting in floor in dish area not in use.

Follow-up inspection scheduled.

Kentucky Fried Chicken, 7500 Big Bend Boulevard
Inspection date: April 4
Grade: A (100)
Caller complained of eating at kentucky fried chicken on 4/1/13 and by the next morning was experiencing food poisoning symptoms. After investigating the establishment, food was held at the right temperature and food was correctly seperated and protected. Complaint closed. Establishment will remain on routine inspection schedule.
