ROMBACH SUPPORTS SUMMIT PRODUCE FOR CHESTERFIELD’S NEXT GREAT PUMPKIN PATCH & FARM MARKET OPENS SEPTEMBER 30th – GRAND OPENIN

Kirkwood Farmers' Market's Summit Produce has opened a new Farm Market & Pumpkin Patch in Chesterfield Valley

BOONES CROSSING FARM MARKET & PUMPKIN PATCH (owner Summit Produce of Kirkwood Farmers Market) is inviting you to join us in welcoming us to Chesterfield, MO located at the Boones Crossing Exit on North Outer 40 next to Taubman Prestige Outlets.

The vacancy left by Rombachs Farm has now been filled by Kirkwood Farmers’ Market long-time tenant, Summit Produce. Summit Produce is locally-owned by the Mitchell Family, specifically Dan Mitchell and Kris Clark, son and daughter of Carol Mitchell, ‘mom’ and founder of Summit Produce in 1978. Summit Produce has been a center of the Kirkwood Community residing just a block from the train station at the Kirkwood Farmer’s Market for 35 years. Now they bring their special market deep in tradition, quality and service to the Chesterfield Valley community.

“We are committed to bringing only the best of everything local to our customers,” says Dan. We are thrilled to be opening our second location in Chesterfield.” My brother and I have big plans to become a permanent fixture in Chesterfield. Hoping to bring the charm of old town Kirkwood a little further west to Chesterfield through winter, spring, summer and fall. We know there is a void for fresh homegrown produce and of course pumpkins, “explains Kris.

Dan adds, “Boones Crossing Farm Market and Pumpkin Patch will fill the void left behind since Rombach’s Farm closed. “We are so grateful to Chip and Marcia Rombach of Rombachs Farm for supporting our move to Chesterfield. We have always wanted to open a second location in Chesterfield and Rombachs Farm motivated us to do just that!”

“Dan and Kris are hardworking, honest people of great character and trust. Opening the Boone’s Crossing location will give families a fun place to go this fall. Even though they are not a farm, they are doing truly special stuff that is unique along with the traditional favorites. They also have that park, 40-acres of woods and trails right behind their Pumpkin Patch. I know they will do an excellent job of carrying on our tradition of Old Gumbo bottoms Fall Fun,” said Chip Rombach.

Chip also noted, “I want to emphasize that we are not associated in any way with the new patch next door to our farm. This is a very fast road out here and we are concerned about the safety of the children for starters. We are forwarding our number to Dan and Kris so if you call, Boone’s Crossing Farm Market will be answering. We want to thank our customers for all the business through the decades. Go to BOONES CROSSING next to TAUBMAN for the best experience and best quality. We will miss the loyal customers and families and maybe be back next Fall. Who knows, maybe Summit Produce and Rombachs farm can join forces in 2018. That would be exciting.”

Open daily this fall and to Christmas, Boone’s Crossing Farm Market brings a vast array of fresh produce, homemade fresh baked goods, candies, dips, raw honey, local soaps, candles, Halloween décor and an impressive variety of pumpkins! Country goods like local apple cider, caramel apples, fruit butters, jams, jellies, relishes, pickled goods, trail mixes and dried fruits will be included in our daily offerings. Fall mums and plants also round out nature’s finds at the Market. Boones also brings fan favorites to Chesterfield from Kirkwood with fun kid activities like the Needle in the Haystack Game and John Deere Tractor Land plus some new attractions such as Pony Rides, hayrides, hay bale hockey, a petting zoo, maze, corn swim bin, and putt for pumpkins!

And, just in time for the holidays beginning November 18th Boones Crossing Farm Market offers an uncompromising selection of freshly cut Christmas trees, greenery and wreaths. Holiday décor, candies and more fill the Gingerbread Shop.

“We know our location will be fun with family-friendly activities as well as be great for those who wish to kick back with live music, food and an awesome atmosphere to enjoy the day. Our stock will be the best found anywhere. We hope that we can provide families have that warm fuzzy, fun feeling while starting a new tradition with us, explains Kris.” “We love our new location. It’s a beautiful 4-acre grassy turf field adjoining the 40-acre Rivers Edge park. Every day we feel and smell the fresh air that sifts over the park to us from the Missouri river. The 10-acre fishing lake is a short, flat walk on wooded trails. This location is also great for bikes. Parking is never a problem and rain not a factor. No mud to park in and our field has built in drainage, says Dan. There are plans in the works for 2018 to grow fields of pumpkins on neighboring farmland behind the levy. Reachable by hayrides.”

ABOUT SUMMIT PRODUCE

Summit Produce is a family-owned and operated business that began from a small location in Gray Summit, MO in 1978, by Carol Mitchell. The current owners are a brother/sister duo Kris Clark and Dan Mitchell, who have been operating out of the Kirkwood Farmers’ Market for over 25 years. The Kirkwood Farmers’ Market is officially owned by the City of Kirkwood, however, many who visit know Summit Produce as the family business that gives them the experience they have grown to love and expect. The family motto is “quality and service is #1 and the rest will fall into place.” Our slogan is “Home of the Homegrown” due to our partnering with more than 30 Missouri and Illinois farm families and producers each year. Now with Boone’s Crossing Farm Market, Summit Produce brings to Chesterfield an endorsed alternative option for the pumpkin patch experience this Fall.
