MICDS Teen Uses Pageant Profile To Promote Diversity

Tess Mandoli will be competing in a national pageant later this summer in Orlando.

You may have noticed a new blogger on Patch. She's Tess Mandoli, a young woman crowned last month as Miss Missouri’s Outstanding Teen for 2013.

Mandoli will be a junior at MICDS in the fall. While she prepares for the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant next month, she's also moving forward with a platform that promotes diversity.

"My goal with my work is to make people re-think diversity, and understand it in a new way. As a result, I hope that my efforts can make a humble difference in our community by decreasing whatever racism, prejudice, and inequality that exists," she wrote in a recent post.

Check out her blog to learn more about her. Good luck in the national competition and in making a difference Tess!
