· There are many products available to help keep you cool. Consider purchasing one you can wet and place on the head or neck. At the very least, wet a wash cloth with cold water and place on head and neck.
· If possible, seek an air-conditioned environment or go to a cooling shelter.
· Wear lightweight clothing.
· Do not engage in strenuous activities during heat advisory days.
· Always wear sun block and re-apply throughout the day.
· Check in regularly with neighbors, caregivers, family, or friends. These individuals should check on you if you have missed a regular check in.
· Caution: On a hot day, a brick home with closed windows and no air conditioning is unsafe and similar to being in an oven.
