2 Maplewood Businesses Accused of Not Paying State Taxes for Second Time

Two Maplewood businesses could be in danger of having their doors shuttered for non-payment of Missouri state sales tax.

The owner of Fix it Right Auto, Dennis Yasinev received a letter from the city dated Nov. 27, 2012, which stated if his Missouri state taxes were not paid by Dec. 14, the city would be forced to shut down the business.

Veronica Morales and Steve Suarez, owners of Las Palmas, at 7356-58 Manchester Road received the same notice, and given the same deadline from the city.

The owners of both businesses have been summonsed to appear at a business license revocation hearing Tuesday evening.

This is the second such hearing for both businesses. The first was on June 26, 2012.

The Las Palmas owners also received a notice from St. Louis County that their liquor license had expired on August 31, 2012.

The business owners will be given a chance to speak at the business license revocation hearing.
