5 Things This Week: 2 City Meetings, 2 Performances and a Class

You've got your choice of a Maplewood City Council or Brentwood Board of Aldermen meeting on Tuesday. The MUNY's Mary Poppins runs all week.

1. Professional cartoonist Eugene Ruble will teach a beginning course in cartooning at Art Mart, 2355 South Hanley Road. It begins at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
2. The Maplewood City Council meets on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Among other things is a hearing for a restaurant in the spot where T. Rohan did business for decades. (He moved upstairs.)
3. The Brentwood Board of Aldermen will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at City Hall. As of Sunday night no agenda was posted on the city web site.
4. Friday from 7-9 p.m. Avrell & Company will perform at Brentwood Park.
5. See Mary Poppins at the MUNY every night at 8:15 until Friday. The show has won 44 awards, according to the MUNY.
