8 Citizens Succesfully Complete Maplewood Academy

The group learned about the Maplewood inner workings from city staff.

Eight Maplewood residents now know much more about how their city operates.

The group was the latest to complete Maplewood's Citizens' Academy, a six-session class where participants learn about the city administration and how each department works on a daily basis.

Mayor Jim White gave certificates to the ones at Tuesday's city council meeting.

City Manager Marty Corcoran said the staff thouroughly enjoyed working with this group of Citizen's Academy participants.

"They were interested, they were active, and asked lots of good questions," he said.

The class included Aaron Armstrong, Luke Havel, Kurt Heidrich, Cassandra Maynard, Kim Noonan, Kristin Schultz, Jonathan Spencer and Colleen Zurliene.
