A Day to Remember Fallen First Responders

May 15 is Peace Officers Memorial Day, dedicated to the memories of first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Today, Maplewood remembers Ryan Hummert, a firefighter and son of former mayor Andy Hummert and Jackie Hummert who was killed by a sniper on his first call in 2008. Read the story: Ryan Hummert Memorial is Coming Soon

St. Louis County Police and first responders held their thirty-sixth annual Uniform Day Memorial Ceremony last week, honoring their collegues with the posting of colors, a roll call of the deceased and a 16 volley shotgun salute.
