Brentwood High: 1 of 8 in State To Win Gold Star
Brentwood is one of eight recognized on Thursday.

Brentwood High School has won a gold star.
It was one of eight schools statewide to be named a Gold Star School by Missouri education officials Thursday.
The program recognizes excellence in academic achievement and is administered by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

"It's the hard work and effort of the staff, students, and parents that makes Brentwood High School such an outstanding educational environment,” Superintendent of Schools David Faulkner said.
Winning this award means Brentwood is nominated for national Blue Ribbon recognition. Blue Ribbon Schools will be announced this fall by the U.S. Department of Education, Assistant Superintendent of Schools Joan Oakley said.

Recently, Brentwood High School was selected as a Gold Star and Blue Ribbon School in 2006.
In the St. Louis area, schools in Lindbergh and Kirkwood were also recognized as Gold Star schools.
