Come to Airedale Antics at 7316 Manchester Road, to meet and greet, and possibly adopt a boxer.
The St. Louis boxer rescue group will have three boxers there from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The group’s director, Cindy Zimmerman, said the group doesn’t have a shelter, so this is how they get their dogs into the public. Folks can’t adopt a boxer on the spot. An application and home visit are involved.

There’s a $275 adoption fee if you find one you like and you’re approved. Zimmerman said part of the cost is because boxers have medical issues. It also includes spay and neuter, and any shots needed.

“They’re one of the clown breed of dogs,” Zimmerman said. “There’s never a day that goes by that you don’t laugh or smile at them because they’re always doing something silly,” she said. “They’re very people oriented. They like to be a member of the family. They’re definitely not a breed that you’re just going to just put out in the back yard and just pet once in a while.”
