Pizza, Ribs, Whiskey at New Maplewood Restaurant

The Blind Tiger is the second venture for one of Maplewood's already-popular chefs.

One of Maplewood’s most prominent spaces, the southeast corner of Manchester and Sutton, 7376 Manchester Road, is set to be back in action.

Michael McLaughlin, proprietor of The Crow’s Nest, at 7336 Manchester Road, plans to open The Blind Tiger at Sutton Place. The corner was most previously the Jumpin’ Jupiter, which left Maplewood following troubled a year and a half.

McLaughlin said he’ll rent the space for events, and also feature pizza, ribs and whiskey in a dining room.

The pizza crust will be a hybrid of New York and Chicago style, all made in-house, McLaughlin said. Diners will choose from bourbon marinara, brown butter, or olive oil sauces. The ribs will be cooked in the bourbon marinara sauce.

McLaughlin said the whiskies will be “lots of stuff you’d expect, and some higher-end whiskies.” He’ll also offer local draft beers.

He hopes to open The Blind Tiger in October.
