PNC Bank Robbery Suspect is Arrested, Lives Four Blocks From Bank

Anthony Wilson, 31, from Richmond Heights, wore a fake beard to rob the PNC Bank at 2111 South Big Bend Boulevard Monday, Maplewood police say.

Wilson was charged Tuesday with first-degree robbery, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. He is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bail. Wilson lives in the 2100 block of Princeton Place, which is four blocks from the bank.

Wilson approached a teller at  4:24 p.m., and presented a note implying he had a weapon, police said. Wilson never showed a weapon and ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Residents who live near the bank saw Wilson fleeing the bank and provided a description that helped officers identify him. About 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, police arrested Wilson at the Lumiere Place Casino in downtown St. Louis, the Post-Dispatch reports.

No one was injured during the robbery.
