Police Shoot Armed Man At Brentwood Hotel After Traffic Stop
Police say the man fired several shots at officers, who were not injured. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

BRENTWOOD, MO — For the second time in as many days, the Post-Dispatch reports, police in St. Louis County have fired their weapons at a suspect.
Police say officers ran the plates of a vehicle in a Brentwood hotel parking lot shortly before midnight Tuesday and found that it was linked to a traffic offense. They did not say what that offense was or why officers ran the plates to begin with.

Upon approaching the car, officers said, a 24-year-old man fled toward a nearby wood separating the hotel from a shopping center. Police say he was armed and fired at least one shot at the three officers, which missed.
According to police, the officers did not fire back at that point. The man continued to run along a small creek that runs between the hotel and the shopping center. He fired several more shots at officers and the officers returned fire, striking the man at least once.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said. The officers weren't injured. Police said the man was wearing a holster and a gun was recovered from the scene.
The officers involved — two from Richmond Heights and the third from Brentwood — were 49, 47 and 35 years old, police said, with a combined 39 years of experience.
