Strange Donuts Prices Announced: Too High?

Strange Donuts, though not yet open, has kept folks interested though social media and events.

Now, after keeping St. Louis on edge for months waiting for an open sign, the Maplewood doughnut shop has sparked controversy with a photo of their future prices on Facebook.

Classics are $1, Creations are $2 and Strangers go for $5.

A few negative comments brought plenty of supportive ones.

• Um, why so high priced? Seems a bit steep for today's economy. No offense.
• Wow over priced and rude sure making a great start with a business. To bad u have to be In maplewood with that attitude
• Hahaha trashy haters crack me up! There are a hundred places in STL to grab a low quality, machine made, overly processed, mediocre donut. Clearly Strange Donuts has a different business strategy...if you don't like it...don't buy it. These morons with nothing better to do than hate are pathetic! Can't wait to see you all opening day!
• These are specialty items, the prices are same or similar as Voodoo Donut in Portland or Psycho Donuts in CA. Nobody grumps at Pi Pizza for not selling pies the same price as Pizza Hut, so we shouldn't treat these guys any differently.
