What's Next For The New QuikTrip?
Now that Proposition Q has passed, the Maplewood city manager and QuikTrip real estate manager talk about the next steps.

Maplewood voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition Q on Tuesday, which OK'd QuikTrip's relocation to the northwest corner of Manchester Road and Big Bend Boulevard.
Before a new QuikTrip can be built the grey building needs to come down. Maplewood City Manager Marty Corcoran said QuikTrip has permits from the city for the demolition, but an inspection for hazardous materials, like asbestos, needs to happen first. Once that occurs they'll need a county permit to demolish the building.
QuikTrip real estate manager Alan Renner said the zoning, site plan and design-review have been completed. However neither the city of Maplewood nor the county has approved building plans.

"As soon as we get those approvals we can go ahead and start," Renner said. "It could be a couple months, it could be three months. It depends on how many reviews we have to go through."
