Yesterday I filed to be a candidate for Lemay Township Republican Committeewoman. I was so excited, I may have slept four hours. Reason? This is my first time to run for any position on an official political ballot, and it was an exciting experience to go through the process. When I left the Election Board, there were two of us that had registered for Lemay Township but I drew the lower number so that put me in the first position on the ballot. I jumped for joy and did a little dance as the woman who registered me just watched and smiled; and I am still excited about the opportunity to serve Lemay Township where I have lived for 27+ years. Needless to say, yesterday was a great day!
Because I have lived in Lemay Township for 27+ years, I have an equitable interest in working to improve OUR community which is why I decided to run. We need a motivated person who is willing to start knocking on doors and working with people to make Lemay Township an organized community group that will be heard and have significant influence. Someone who is willing to get involved in many aspects of the township to make a difference in people’s lives to improve where they live, learn, work and play, and has proven leadership and organizational excellence.
