Oakville's Sluggers Rebuilding Homes in Joplin

The Sluggers are helping Habitat Joplin complete 40 homes in Joplin.

Oakvilles’ own St. Louis Sluggers Disaster Recovery Team began their work week Monday in Joplin, Missouri. The crew of 22 volunteers are helping to rebuild the city after the EF5 tornado that ripped through on May 22, 2011.

This is the Sluggers forth trip to help rebuild Joplin. Sluggers made 11 trips to the Mississippi Gulf Coast to help Hurricane Katrina victims.

The Sluggers are helping Habitat Joplin complete 40 homes this year. The group split into five crews installing light fixtures, siding homes, building utility sheds and caulking and painting interior trim and doors.
