UPDATE: Officer-Involved Shooting Leaves One Dead in South County

The man was involved in a fight and car theft at KT's Saloon early Saturday. Police went to the man's apartment, where he opened his door with a cocked assault rifle.

UPDATE 3 p.m.: The man who died has been identified as Andrew P. Bush, 29, of the 4400 block of El Paulo Ct., in Oakville.

A man involved in a bar fight and car theft at KT's Saloon in the 4500 block of Telegraph Rd. was shot and killed by St. Louis County police early Saturday morning.

After responding to the call at the bar, police were able to identify the man who was a somewhat regular customer there, our partners at FOX 2 report. Police went to the man's nearby apartment, where they say he opened the door with a cocked assault rifle.

Two officers opened fire, killing the man in his doorway, the station reports. Both officers have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
