FZN Senior Sophia Brinker recently committed to Ripon College, located in Ripon, Wisconsin, to play volleyball for the Red Hawks. Brinker was a multi-year letter winner while at Fort Zumwalt North, playing both right and middle hitter for the Panthers this past fall. In addition to her time playing at FZN, Brinker gained additional experience in the sport through club volleyball, playing nine years on the club circuit most recently with the St. Peter’s Storm. Brinker also helps coach youth volleyball for the Wentzville Heat. An honor-student with a full load of AP course work, Brinker was a two-time member of the conference “All-Academic” team.

Ripon College is a NCAA Division 3 school that competes in athletics as a member of the Midwest Conference. This spring the Red Hawks competed in an abbreviated season, due to Covid, finishing with a 2 – 3 overall mark. At Ripon, Brinker plans on studying Biology and Chemistry (Pre-Med) with hopes of becoming an ER doctor. She is the daughter of Gary and Michelle Brinker.
