FZN Senior Ashley Head recently committed to play soccer at the University of Wisconsin- Platteville. Head was to be a key member of the Panthers girls’ soccer team this spring, a season that was unfortunately canceled to concerns over Covid19. Head, a three-year varsity team member at FZN, was known for her tenacity and hustle on the field. A vocal team leader, she served as team captain for the past two seasons. A player with a wealth of soccer experience, Head was also a member of the Missouri Rush and Lou Fusz club teams.

In addition to her prowess on the pitch, Head achieved a place in school history this past winter when she placed 5th at the MSHSAA State Wrestling championships. Nicknamed, “The Hammer”, Head was the first female wrestler at FZN to achieve “All-State” status. She complied an overall record of 27 -12 in just her first season on the mat.

A scholar-athlete, Head carries an impressive 3.936 GPA while taking a full course-load of AP classes. For her efforts in the classroom, she was placed on the conference’s “All-Academic” team for both soccer and wrestling. Head was also selected by faculty member and wrestling coach Matt Steinhoff to receive the school’s PPI award for being a positive influence on her peers at FZN.
