How Green Is O'Fallon?
Does O'Fallon make it easy for you to live an earth-friendly lifestyle? What do you wish was different?

Towns across the country are getting new recycling centers, giving away rain barrels and installing parking meters with solar panels. Here at Patch, we want to know: What makes O'Fallon green?
The city of O’Fallon has a mission to be the “best city in Missouri,” and part of that means being green. Along with promoting recycling, is trying to become more green by using things in a more practical way, one that leaves air and water cleaner, and helps our natural resources last.
To promote renewable and clean sources of energy the city installed a 25 kW solar photovoltaic energy system on the roof of the Street Department maintenance building at 405 South Cool Springs Road. It's anticipated that the system will produce approximately 34,710 kilowatt hours (kWh) annually, which is equivalent to providing enough energy to power six homes throughout the year.
