O'Fallon Mo. Police Department Stake Out Dunkin' Donuts Raising $900 for Special Olympics Missouri

The O’Fallon Police Department staked out Dunkin’ Donuts at the “Cop on a Rooftop” event for nine hours on Fri., May 19. The event was to raise awareness and donations for the Missouri Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Missouri.

The police officers began their stake out at 5 a.m. and collected donations, sold T-shirts and handed out coupons for a free donut to O’Fallon, Mo. residents until 2 p.m. Despite the morning’s gloomy weather, two officers, Julie Long and Jacob Knopfel made their way to the Dunkin’ Donuts’ rooftop for a photo-op. The police officers raised over $900 in donations to benefit Special Olympics Missouri.

The multi-brand Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins restaurant is located at 4009 Highway K in O'Fallon, Mo. and is operated by franchisee Keith Patel. Ten other Dunkin’ Donuts stores throughout St. Louis took part in the day’s event including the second O’Fallon location, Kirkwood, St. Louis, Ellisville, Saint Charles, Ballwin, Kingdom City, Arnold, Saint Peters and Richmond Heights. The local police departments that staked out these locations were Kirkwood PD, St. Louis Co. PD – South Precinct and West Precinct, MSHP Troop C and Troop F, St. Charles City PD, Callaway Co. Sheriff’s Dept., Arnold PD, Richmond Heights PD, St. Charles Co. PD and St. Charles Co Sherriff’s Dept. Among the 22 Dunkin’ Donuts stores that participated in the state of Missouri, they hope to raise $20,000.
