FZN Senior Robert Rezex recently signed a “Letter of Intent” to play football at Truman State University located in Kirksville, Missouri. Last fall, Rezex completed an outstanding senior season as a two-way player for the Panthers. The Panthers finished the season with an 11 – 2 overall record while advancing to the Class 5 state semi-finals. On the defensive side of the ball, Rezex led the team with 4 interceptions. His highlight reel interception in the end zone during the waning moments of the Francis Howell game, preserved the Panther victory and proved to be one of the highlights of the season. Rezex recorded 49 tackles and recovered 3 fumbles from his defensive back position. Recognized as one of the more outstanding defenders in the area, Rezex was a 1st team “All-Conference” selection. Rezex’s talents were not limited to one side of the ball. Playing in the slot-receiver role for the Panthers, he rushed for 237 yards on 33 carriers while catching 13 passes for 131 yards. Rezex was a 2nd team “All-Conference” selection on offense. A scholar in the classroom, sporting better than a 4.0 GPA, Rezex was placed on the conference “All-Academic” team in each of his three varsity seasons.

Truman State is a NCAA D2 school that competes in athletics as a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). The Bulldogs did not play a fall schedule in 2020, but they do plan on playing an abbreviated schedule this spring. In 2019, the Bulldogs completed one of their better seasons in recent history finishing with a 9 – 2 overall record and narrowly missing the NCAA playoffs. At Truman, Rezex plans on focusing on the defensive side of the ball. He is undecided on his major, but indicated that the school’s strong academic reputation was a primary reason for choosing Truman. Rezex is the son of Abe and Pam Rezex.
