SCC lands a pair of Panthers!
Kelly Allensworth and Kate Neuman to play softball for St. Charles Community College.
A pair of FZN seniors, Kelly Allensworth and Kate Neuman, recently committed to play softball for St. Charles Community College. Both were key members of an FZN squad that finished with a 14 – 7 record in the fall of 2020. Allensworth pitched and played infield for the Panthers batting an impressive .436 during the season. She compiled an 8 – 2 record on the mound. An excellent student, who sports a 4.1 GPA, Allensworth was a 3X “All-Academic” conference performer. Neuman played 3rd base for the Panthers. An excellent fielder, she hit .362 this past season and was placed on the GAC Central “All-Conference” team. Both players are members of the St. Louis Prospects softball club. Allensworth batted .357 while Neuman hit .477 during the club season. Last summer the Prospects finished 2nd at the FASA National Tournament held in Branson, Missouri.
Allensworth plans on studying Education with the goal of becoming a social studies teacher and coach. Neuman hopes to become a Physical Therapist.
St. Charles Community College is a NJCAA school that participates in athletics as member of the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference. Last spring the Cougars finished 5 – 7 the Covid shortened season with a 5 - 7 mark.
